It is very rare for a Bollywood film to do that well. Up next is Baahubali: The Beginning, which was also a surprise hit with an average of $13,559 in 236 theaters. I thought this might be a little too niche to find a large audience, but perhaps I was wrong. The best limited release was Tangerine with an average $15,171 in four theaters. ![]() This includes the overall number one film, Minions, which earned an average of $26,905 in over 4,000 theaters. The $10,000 club was busier that it was last week with four films earning a per theater average of more than $10,000. Per Theater Chart: Tangerine Has Sweet Start Because of that, I'm going with Better Call Saul: Season One as the Best of the Best, but it isn't the only other title worth picking up. However, I'm still waiting for the screener and I hate to give out this title when a screener is on its way. In fact, it is a Contender for Pick of the Week. Of these two films, Trainwreck is the only one worth picking up. On the other hand, Trainwreck earned $100 million here, but barely made a peep internationally. Terminator: Genisys was a monster hit internationally, but it failed to live up to expectations here. There are a couple of big hits on this week's list of new releases. Home Market Releases for November 10th, 2015 (One of Spotlight's was the Robert Altman Award, which has no nominations, just one winner.) Its six nominations were one ahead of Beasts of No Nation and Spotlight. This is great timing and should help its box office numbers, as well as its chances throughout Awards Season. The overall leader was Carol, which just opened this past weekend. There were definitely some surprise nominees this year, but that also meant there were some unfortunate snubs as well. ![]() Top 2015 Limited Release Movies at the Domestic Box OfficeĪll Time Domestic Box Office for Original Screenplay Movies (Rank 4,701-4,800)Īll Time Domestic Box Office for Live Action Movies (Rank 8,201-8,300)Īll Time Domestic Box Office for Contemporary Fiction Movies (Rank 4,801-4,900)Īll Time Domestic Box Office for Magnolia Pictures MoviesĢ015 - Awards Season: Independent Spirit Awards - NominationsĪwards Season begins with the Independent Spirit Awards nominations.
